Easter Weekend

FRIDAY

Hi there! This weekend Trevor and I decided to spend Easter weekend at the beach with my Dad, Great Aunt, and Great Uncle. We left school mid-afternoon Friday and arrived around dinner time. We decided to try a restaurant down the street called Vagabond Kitchen & Tap House. I found out it was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri last summer and ever since I’ve wanted to try it! I got some mixed mango drink that was delicious with Crabby Mac & Cheese of course! Trevor got the mac & cheese, but on a burger. It wasn’t bad for a sports bar. We made some drinks, caught up with my family, and watched a little White Collar to finish out the night.

SATURDAY

Saturday was cloudy and windy so it was perfect for a day of studying. Trevor and I have a test coming up next week so we knew we were going to be spending most of the weekend studying. We grabbed some breakfast at Annette’s and then some coffee at Ventnor Coffee (this super cute, hipster cafe) and then headed to the public library, which had a nice view of the ocean. After several hours spent at the library, we headed back to the house for a home-cooked meal of roast, cod, crab claws, shrimp, potatoes, and steamed brussels sprouts. There was SO MUCH food. I’m stuffed thinking about it haha. After dinner, Trevor and I went for a drive to get ice cream and look at the houses on the boardwalk. Then we settled in for the night.

I forgot to mention Trevor and I made each other Easter baskets!

SUNDAY

Today it was 84 degrees and sunny at the beach. It was absolutely gorgeous, which made it a lot harder to study. Plus the library was closed so we ended up staying home and studying. My great Aunt loves the casinos and so we always get reservations for dinner at one of the restaurants when we visit. Trevor and I headed over to the beach before dinner to catch a little sunshine before it set. After a nice walk on the beach, we met my great aunt and uncle, my dad, Tony, and my aunt and uncle’s friend at the restaurant. We ate at il Verdi where I ordered the linguini alla vongole, little neck clams in a white wine sauce over linguine, and Trevor ordered the filetto di manzo alla griglia, filet mignon, as well as, truffle risotto and asparagus for sides.

Overall it was a good weekend, with good food, and good people. I wish we would’ve got more time on the beach and didn’t have to study as much, but summer’s right around the corner (;

Hoppy Easter!
